# Junie

> You do the birth work. Junie keeps the admin together. Client-management software for doulas, with agreements, payments, due-date schedules, on-call periods, hour banks, and review-first admin drafts.

Junie is client-management software for doulas and birth workers. It keeps inquiries, agreements, invoices, payment schedules, on-call periods, postpartum hours, and payment receipts in one place. AI-assisted admin begins in review mode: Junie drafts, and the doula decides what is sent. Junie is generally available and does not submit Medicaid or commercial-insurance claims.

## Pricing

- Published for general access: $39/month or $390/year.
- Free tier: Free for 1 active client. The published free plan allows 1 active client at a time. An engagement counts from signing through active, on-call, and postpartum work. Completed and lost engagements do not count. Inquiries, consults, and proposals do not use a slot.
- Junie is generally available: create an account and start free. The paid plan is optional until your practice grows.
- Junie adds no platform fee to client payments. Stripe processing fees still apply and vary by payment method, country, and account pricing.
- A paid subscription keeps its signup price for the first 12 months. Any later price increase requires at least 90 days' notice.

## Current functions

- For a birth inquiry that includes an estimated due date, Junie compares the date with committed birth engagements and the practice's saved birth-client capacity when preparing a reply; a client reply stops that follow-up thread and returns it to the doula
- Draft mode is the default. Autopilot stays locked for an eligible inquiry or transactional follow-up workflow until 10 consecutive drafts are approved without edits, and the doula must then choose to enable it; marketing offers remain review-only
- Birth-support payment dates can be calculated from the estimated due date; postpartum balances use the package's selected net terms counted from signing
- Client-facing booking flows can collect a package choice, agreement signature, and initial payment without requiring a client account
- On-call periods and recorded birth events appear in the schedule; capacity is checked only for a birth inquiry that includes an estimated due date, as described above
- Postpartum hours are recorded in a ledger and the remaining balance is visible to the doula and client
- One or more settled payments can produce a payment receipt labeled as a superbill; it can include the saved NPI and optional service codes entered by the doula, but the current version uses payment-record dates and generic descriptions, so the doula must check whether it meets the recipient's requirements
- A private client link can show the latest signed agreement and the current engagement's payments, generated receipts, and postpartum-hours balance
- The importer accepts one CSV, or one contacts CSV found inside a ZIP, and maps basic contact and pipeline fields with a result for each row
- A self-service ZIP export includes clients, leads, engagements, payments, installments, hour entries, messages, agent activity, calendar events, executed agreements, and generated receipts; it does not currently include every account field or artifact

## Message controls

- Every workflow starts in review mode. An unapproved agent draft can send only after an eligible workflow has earned autopilot and the doula has enabled it
- Agent-generated outreach is blocked during the on-call period and for 7 days after the recorded birth, unless the doula has enabled payment-neutral logistics and the message contains no money request
- A practice-wide birth pause blocks agent-generated outreach
- Agent messages scheduled during quiet hours are rescheduled using the client's saved timezone, or the practice timezone when the client has none; the default window is 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- A per-client weekly limit on agent-generated messages is checked again at send time
- Stated amounts, links, unresolved template fields, and possible cross-client details are checked before agent-generated messages send; when a practice has several packages, the current price check uses the lowest package price and may not catch a quote for the wrong package
- For a birth inquiry with an estimated due date, Junie checks capacity when it creates the draft; it does not check the calendar again just before sending, so the doula should review the availability statement
- Autopilot drafts are checked for possible medical advice, legal advice, risky tone, and off-topic content; a warning or unavailable classifier holds the draft for review
- Activity records show drafts held for review, blocks, reschedules, dismissals, and sends; sent entries show whether the doula approved or edited the draft

## Privacy

- Private client notes and optional birth notes are encrypted before they are stored; account data is also separated with database row-level access controls
- Junie does not train its own models on client data. AI tasks send the content needed for that task to a configured commercial API provider; provider processing and retention are described in the Privacy Policy
- A self-service export downloads listed client, engagement, payment, message, calendar, activity, agreement, and generated-receipt records; private notes, birth-event details, packages, templates, setup artifacts, and imported source files are not currently included
- The app contains an account-deletion control, but Junie has not yet verified that it works with the permissions used in production; account holders should email a deletion request and not rely on the in-app action for now
- Junie does not currently offer a business associate agreement and does not represent the service as HIPAA compliant

- The default beta agreement has not completed attorney review; a doula should not use it with clients until an attorney licensed in the relevant state reviews it
- The intake questionnaire published in the template library is educational and is not currently an in-product collection or storage flow
- The current document labeled as a superbill uses each payment record's creation date as its service date, uses a generic payment description, and accepts unvalidated service codes; verify the document against the recipient's requirements before sharing it
- When a practice has several packages, the agent's current price check uses the lowest package price and may not catch a quote for the wrong package; review every quoted price

## FAQ

### What counts as an active client on the free plan?

A client counts once you sign them and stays active until the engagement is completed or lost. Inquiries, consults, and proposals do not use a slot. The published free plan allows 1 active client at a time.

### Does Junie take a cut of my payments?

Junie adds no platform fee to a client's payment. Stripe processing fees still apply, and the amount can vary by payment method, country, and the Stripe pricing attached to your account.

### Are these prices available now?

Yes. Junie is generally available - create an account and start free with your first client. The paid plan is $39 per month or $390 per year.

### Will my price go up after I sign up?

A paid subscription keeps its signup price for the first 12 months. Junie will provide at least 90 days' notice before any later price increase.

### Is my clients' information used to train AI?

Junie does not train its own models on client data. When you use an AI-assisted task, Junie sends the content needed for that task to a configured commercial API provider. The currently supported providers state that commercial API inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default. Default API retention is generally up to 30 days, with policy, legal, product, and account-configuration exceptions. See the Privacy Policy and provider links for the current details.

### Do you support Medicaid billing?

No. Junie does not submit Medicaid or commercial-insurance claims. One or more settled payments can produce a receipt labeled as a superbill. It can include the saved NPI and optional service codes entered by the doula. The current version uses payment-record dates and generic descriptions, so the doula and client should first ask the relevant plan or benefit administrator what it accepts.

### What does the current self-service export include?

The ZIP contains CSV files for clients, leads, engagements, payments, installments, hour entries, messages, agent activity, and calendar events, plus executed agreements and generated receipts as HTML. It does not currently include private notes, birth-event details, packages, templates, setup artifacts, or imported source files. Download and check the export before requesting deletion. Junie has not yet verified that the in-app deletion control works with production permissions, so email hello@junie.app instead of relying on it for now.

### Will Junie make me sound like a robot to my clients?

Junie starts from a built-in base draft and the relevant practice, client, package, payment, or inquiry details saved for that task. For a birth inquiry with an estimated due date, it compares that date with committed birth engagements and your saved birth-client capacity. It does not perform the same calendar check for an inquiry without a due date, so review every availability statement. Autopilot does not unlock until you have approved 10 consecutive drafts for an eligible inquiry or transactional follow-up workflow without edits, and it remains your choice to turn it on. Marketing offers stay review-only.

### Why use AI for this at all?

AI can produce a first draft quickly, but it should not make care decisions or replace your judgment. Junie uses it for bounded administrative tasks such as inquiry replies and follow-ups, then applies separate send checks and keeps you in review mode until a workflow qualifies for optional autopilot.

### What is checked before an automated message is sent?

For an agent-generated message, Junie rechecks the workflow and thread status, client replies, birth pause, on-call and post-birth window, weekly message limit, quiet hours, stated amounts, links, template fields, and possible cross-client details. When a practice has several packages, the price check uses the lowest package price and may not catch a quote for the wrong package. Junie also relies on the availability check from when a birth-inquiry draft was created instead of checking the calendar again just before sending. Autopilot requires a clean content-classifier result; otherwise the message is held for review.

### Where does my clients' birth information go?

Junie stores the client and engagement information you enter in the practice account. Private client notes and optional birth notes are encrypted before storage. An AI task receives the context assembled for that task through a configured commercial API provider. The Privacy Policy explains the current providers, purposes, and retention.

### What if a client replies while Junie is following up?

A client reply changes the thread to needs-review status. Pending system follow-ups for that thread are blocked, and the conversation returns to the doula.

### Are you trying to sell me a business course?

No. Junie is software for managing a doula practice. It does not provide business coaching, find clients for you, employ you, or take a Junie platform fee from client payments.
